Lovely country pub out in the sticks, and as such food is a large part of their operation here, but it doesn't impact on the pubbiness. An extremely low wood beamed ceiling in the middle section of the three areas, the right hand area is more set for dining, the left more so for drinking, but comfortable throughout. Bric-A-Brac a plenty, still as described by Quinno below. The three beers on were Ringwood Boondoggle, Marstons Lancaster Bomber and Triple fff Altons Pride being the Locale offering, the Boondogle was fine.A very nice pub.

Quinno _ left this review about The Anchor Inn

A major character pub over two rooms with lots of low ceilings, original beams, exposed brick and wood panelling. Quite dim, muted lighting and candles but it just about worked. Some random objects d’art including old hats and b&w school photos. Upright piano spotted but otherwise a quiet pub, no piped music. Apparently there’s a covered well in the dining room floor but I didn’t spot it. Three ales available but only advertised in one bar (doh); Triple fff Moondance and 2x Crafty Brewing (a new one on me) - Heady Steady Go (decent nick) and Loxhill Biscuit (fair). Expensive, though. Friendly barman. As a drinker I liked it here and would happily do a revisit.
