Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Rhydspence Inn

This is a fabulous old drovers inn on the Welsh border. Indeed, part of the garden is in Wales. Unlike the Sun Inn just down the road in Winforton, we were encouraged to find this pub busy with both drinkers and diners (probably more of the latter), with the car park full despite the 3pm last orders looming large. Despite arriving around 10 minutes before 3 o'clock, others arriving after 3 were also served without any issues by the friendly landlady.

The drinking areas are to the right of the entrance, with 2 impressive rooms. Dining areas are off to the left-hand side. But we did not explore these. Butty Bach & HPA were the real ales. There is no longer any real cider.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Rhydspence Inn

Classic drovers inn, plausibly (unlike most such claims) dating from 1380. At least four small and ultra-traditional rooms in the old part of the building, two of which have counters from the compact corner bar. The dining areas can be found in a newer addition off to one side, and there are wooden benches in the sloping beer garden with the stream along the side forming the Welsh border. Three real ales on handpump: Wye Valley's Butty Bach, Swan Gold (£3.50) and Hobson's Old Prickly. Well worth seeking out.
