Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Cooper's

Probably the oldest building in the vicinity, still looking like a country pub despite being buried in the south-eastern suburbs of the garden city. The interior has been comprehensively modernised by Charles Wells, of course, but the low ceilings and exposed beams in the various seating / dining areas created from the small rooms of the original Beehive still provide some character. There is also a reasonable beer garden to bar side, and a patio area by the restaurant entrance. Just Youngs Special (£2.25, half) available from one of the pair of handpumps.

Komakino . left this review about Cooper's

A nice Olde Worlde building still under the auspices of Charlie Wells now converted into a "Grill House" and, looking at the pub signpost, still retaining the original name (The Beehive) although none of the branding reflects this. It's a bit of a warren inside, but has kept the low, exposed beams and all the exposed walls and panelling have been painted over in white. All tables had numbers and food menus, although there is a small portion of bar serving Young's Special and Young's London Gold and solo imbibing is still allowed. A vinegary Special came in at £2.25 for a half and was swiftly left.

Bucking Fastard left this review about The Beehive

A very old building predating the surrounding Welwyn Garden City by several centuries. These days it's owned by Charles Wells and there are two entrances ,one to the restaurant the other to the bars ,which I used.Immediately the low ceiling, exposed beams and different levels testify to the age .The main carpeted lounge is divided by a double faced inglenook ,sadly unused and one side used to accomodate a seating bench. The decor is classic pubco, with in the main dining type tables but a sofa arrangement below a flat screen showing Sky Sports News on my trip. There are nooks and crannies and muzak is played at low volume,it would have been even more pleasant if the heating were switched on.
The dining room is large with all tables set for diners and besides the 2 for £10 and meal deals, the value menu also offers a daily carvery.Outside there is a very large garden, and a sizeable car park.Live music on Wednesdays.
There are two ranks of three handpumps but only CW Bombardier and Directors (decent shape £2.90) was on offer.I didn't eat so cant comment on that.
The pub is a stones throw from QE II Hospital,so you may expect nurses to be present here, sadly none on my lunchtime trip.
More authentic than many of the modern WGC pubs despite the pubco makeover, worth a quick squint to see the old interior.
