Walked in, three customers, no staff, shite beer offering, walked out. That's probably the best thing to do at this place.

Roger Button left this review about The Wishing Well

Part of the Wishing Well chain that seems to be dissipating rather than expanding. This one is situated in middle of the town's shoppng area and is almost ‘Spoonish in character with a very plastic, contrived interior.

The single open room is partly broken up by 2 large exposed brick pillars and there are a few screened areas around the edges. Irish themed posters and pictures decorate the walls alongside cheap home made promo posters for upconming live music (why don’t pubs use a bit of imagination and do a more professional job using a PC?). There are several multi-channel TVs that are generally sport orientated. The most eye catching features are probably the spectacular brace of coloured glass skylighta in the ceiling which do alleviate the blandness of the rest of the pub.

There are no Real Ales, just the usual kegs, lager, Guinness etc and the prices seemed a bit on the steep side. This is a poor town for pubs and the fact that the best place for variety is probably the ‘Spoons pretty much sums up drinking in Borehamwood.

Steve C left this review about The Wishing Well

This place is basically what one would expect form a Wishing Well Group pub from the décor to the standard range of draught. Obviously there are flat screens throughout this large single room pub and the football and horse racing are shown on Sky. There are a couple of large brick pillars in the centre of the pub that do split the room up a little and there are also three stained glass windows in the ceiling between these pillars. There is also a small yard out the back which keeps the smokers off the high street at the front of the pub.

Whilst I was waiting at the bar for the friendly barmaid to pour my well served Guinness I had a glance at the menu which seemed offer a mix of reasonably priced English and Thai food. I didn’t have any or spot anyone else eating so I cannot comment on the quality.

Friday and Saturday nights see this place hosting karaoke and live traditional Irish music evenings, but I think that I will just stick to visiting in the day as most pubs in this chain are handy for a stop off whilst shopping.
