Plans for a detached family home on land at the rear of Stortford's former Archers pub now a Tesco Express store have been submitted.
The application for the 0.089 hectare plot at Havers Lane has been submitted to East Herts District Council by Greene King.
The Archers closed in early 2012 and there was uproar when the supermarket chain's scheme to turn it into a convenience store were revealed, prompting a massive opposition campaign.

Formerly called the Cellarman, but now renamed the Archers, this pub was built in 1954 on the Havers estate.
Sadly another casulty of the tough times and currently it looks like this one will also be sold off by Greedy King for more housing.
