Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Indie Lounge

I don't normally leave a review when not served (which is hardly a common occurrence), but this place is supposedly now "students only", even when otherwise empty apart from staff. Daft.

Soup Dragon left this review about Archies Bar

This is a corner bar, which i believe also does food. I think it is a modern, converted corner shop and was formerly Archies Bar. It is coffee rendered building (former corner entrance), with a large low-level extension. The interior is an open L-shaped room, which is in green, wood panel, some patterned wallpaper, a mural on one wall (i seem to remember but failed to note), with a wood floor. The music was mixed and at a decent level and the there is a big TV, which had the news on. There are a couple of pool tables and the walls have a mix of the old photos and other art on them. The service was very friendly, and i ended up having a good chat to the younger staff about the history of the area, with a few of the student clientele joining in. Beer; sadly no real ale, just the usual tap stuff, so i just had half of some cider for a change, followed by a Newcy Brown. A place that i will remember for the friendliness rather than the beer.
