A fairly standard pub. Open plan, though there is pool table to the left of the bar that is in its own area. The rest of the pub is fairly generic. 3 handpumps with 2 of them being nice shiny ones to the left and a nice shiny one to the right. The one on the right was the only one on, serving Hobgob. Tellies everywhere but no horse racing on today just the news.

This is a big barn of a place facing the bus station. Racing was being shown on several TV's and there's a pool table. There's no JDW in Rawtenstall, so this is where their clientele live. The pub itself is bright and airy, so it's had a refurb along with a name change since the last review. The bar service was still very laid back though aka slow. Three handpumps on the bar with 2 on, Hobgoblin and a Thwaites seasonal. My pint was £1.95 and was overpriced given that it was very poorly kept. Won't be coming here again.

Steve C left this review about The Crown

The Crown is a basic boozer that could do with a little decoration as I thought it to be little grim. To the right of the pub is a small stage area at the rear that faces some booth seating that runs towards the front of the pub. To the left is a pool table and dartboard and either side of the entrance is a raised seating area. During my recent Thursday afternoon visit there were three other customers and some random background music was playing that led me to believe that there was a jukebox, although I didn’t actually see one.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and the two hand pumps were unused. I spotted one television that was off and there were no signs around the pub for Sky Sports, but after flicking through a ‘Valley Entertainments’ pamphlet that I found on the bar I learned that live sport is shown. I also read in this pamphlet that karaoke takes place here every Saturday night.

The service was nonchalant and was a small factor in my decision not to return here again anytime soon.

Large pub near to the bus station in need of decoration. Called in one afternoon before my bus came, and was mildly amused with a sign over one of the rooms NO WORK CLOTHES On the plus side the beer was cheap.
