A large, quite grand looking pub not far from the bus station. The grand looking exterior is not retained once inside. It is a fairly generic open plan pub with a few distinct areas to sit but nothing really of note. A couple of real ales were available but sadly Deuchars and Doom Bore just don't do it. Better pubs nearby.

An imposing looking pub in a very prominent position. Despite a fairly recent refubishment it's still a bit of a mess. This is mainly due to the large amount of D4 lowlife that use the pub, at least it was full of them on my Friday, early evening visit. Only 1 cask beer available which was Deuchars and only 1 girl serving with several waiting. I really couldn't be bothered waiting for a poor beer in a poor pub.

The Chestergate is situated in a prime position close to the bus station and Stockport's main shopping area. This is a typical large unremarkable town centre pub with a gathering of local characters and no real ale. I thought the raised area to the left of the entrance and the wooded staircase the pubs best features.Suppose the pub is ok for a stopgap if you have time on your hands before your bus is due.
