Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Chambers

Cellar bar and live music venue with various seating areas in a slightly split-level layout. Has something of a continental feel decor-wise rather than the faux-gothic look I was half expecting, and it does have a reputation as a real ale establishment. I found the regular Adnams Ghost Ship and two local beers - Hopfuzz Fallout (£3.60, and in great shape) and Evil Thieves IPA from Angels & Demons - being dispensed from a bank of six handpumps.

This is a cellar bar with a cafe of the same name at street level. It's a fairly typical sort of place that was quiet on my early Saturday evening visit. There were five hand pumps which had a cider, Goody's Genesis, Hop Fuzz Bullion Bomb, Adnam's Lighthouse and Old Dairy Green Hop. I went for the Bullion Bomb (£3.70) which was in good nick and I didn't view as being outrageously expensive.
It's not my sort of place but it's worth a look. It's GBG 2017 listed.

A cellar bar with a fairly small front bar and a back bar with much more room. Up to four real ales on and the Goodys bear that I tried was in good form albiet very very expensive at £3.75 a pint which may explain why there were only 3 people in the bar. Although there was a fair selection of real ale on this underground bar is very clausterphobic.

Chambers is a cellar bar that is much larger than I was expecting. The bar is located to the left of the bottom of the stairs and I noted three available ales that were Adnams Lighthouse, Cottage Brewery’s Firefly and 1381 brewery’s Wantsum. There is also a premium draught selection, but I went for a pint of Adnams that was perfectly served. To the right of the stairs is a long seating area dotted with arches and snugs. There are a couple of gaming machines and some chilled background music was playing. A quiz was advertised for the first Sunday of each month starting at 20:00.
Food is served from midday until 14:00 Monday through to Saturday and 19:00 until 21:00 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. My visit was on Monday evening when the kitchen was closed so I didn’t see any menus of prices.

I found the service to be friendly, but I’m not a big fan of drinking underground so I would probably not bother with this place again.

Popped in for the Easter 2010 beer festival. I love this place - it just keeps getting better

Folkestone's best pub, and (well deserved) CAMRA ‘s local branch pub of the year. Following a few visits to this place, it's joined that hallowed group of hostelries that get 9/10.

Out in the provinces you're lucky to find anywhere with more than three hand pumps working. This place regularly has five. And a couple of decent ciders too.
The food's good. And there's a beer festival over the Easter weekend.....

There's always a really good selection of ales, and the food is excellent. Good friendly service. Will keep on going back

My mates were a bit suspicious that I was leading them into a coffee shop, as that's what the upstairs actually is, but they settled down once we were downstairs and they saw the handpumps. It can feel a bit studenty, as most of the staff seem to be, but they do know their beer and provide a friendly service. There is always a good selection of beers and ciders and even when the pipes are being cleaned they'll draw the beer straight from the barrel. I recall Henry's IPA, Ramsgate Bitter, Dogbolter Porter and Skrimshanker IPA and we tried all of them during the three visits we made over as many days. An eclectic clientele mixes well, with the trendy young beautiful people drinking harmoniously alongside the real ale enthusiasts. CAMRA newsletters and local information leaflets are available and there's an unusual little alcove near the main bar where the telephone sits. A good place for a beer.
