No front entrance so come in from the side. Bar in front of you with five hand pumps including Old Rosie cider. Three weakish real ales and another at 5.5% ABV. Fair sized room and also room to the rear of the bar.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Wheatsheaf

Substantial suburban Ember Inns outlet, but none the worse for that. Yes, the various seating / dining areas in the split-level layout have been given the usual semi-modern makeover, but - despite it being a food-led operation - it all works quite well. There are also some wooden patio tables outside, but I might have just missed the season for that by a day! On the beer front, you couldn't fault the selection of ten real ales in a variety of styles - ranging from the 'house' pale through to Titanic Plum Porter, although I ended up with a very good pint of Pales of the Unexpected from Glamorgan (selected purely on the basis of the name and pump-clip, but no regrets...).

Old Blue left this review about Wheatsheaf

A largeish corner pub, with a main bar area, a raised area to the right as you enter and a snugger sunken area behind, which has a separate bar counter and used to be known as the ‘Silhouette Bar’ in the 1980s. Now it is one of the better Ember Inns. Decor is deep rosy hues offset by creamy neutrals (the missus wrote that bit), with black and white prints around the walls and furnished with assorted tables and chairs. A selection of five ales was available on my recent visits: Adnams Broadside, Everards Tiger, Charles Wells DNA, Abbeydale Moonshine, and Lancaster Blueberry Ale, several of which I tried and enjoyed. There was a good atmosphere with a very mixed clientele. We liked this pub and would happily come back here – in fact we did so several times during our recent stay locally.
