Update: Not greatly changed physically, but all a bit too light and bright to have much character. Food probably has a greater emphasis nowadays but still good for drinking at the front room, or in the outdoor areas to the back. My only grumble is that ales tend to be a bit on the light side too, with TT Boltmaker and Leeds Pale as regulars and something like Ossett White Rat as the third.

(2018 review)
Very smart, well-maintained pub in the centre of the village. A clean, bright interior features a comfortable drinking area to the front, with a dartboard tucked down the side of the bar, with a larger well-tabled room more aimed at diners stretching down the other side to a conservatory by the car park. Garden at rear. Draught ales included TT Boltmaker and something numeric from Isaac Poad and condition was good (Cask Marque). All in all a nice pub.

A larger pub on the village green in painted brick and grey rough cast, it’s more of a dining pub, the first smell on entering is garlic. An L shaped interior with the counter and tall tables and stools to the front, lower seating in front of the counter then more lower tables and chairs down a step at the back. Three pulls with, Taylor’s Boltmaker, Leeds Pale and a guest from Great Newsome in good condition. Lots of grey inside and old photos decor, mostly of the village. Friendly owners, the lunchtime punters were mostly in the yummy mummy or ladies who lunch category.
