Old Boots left this review about The Marcia Inn

GBG listed, award winning pub opposite the Woodman, a two bar pub but one bar was shut for a funeral party from the nearby crem’. The popular public to the left is finished in a variety of colours, mustard, grey, cream and wall finishes: paint, paint with slogans and map wallpaper which may unsettle locals due to where the join is. Floors tell you a lot about pubs and their owners; so it’s modern flag, parquet and bare boards, possibly reflecting where walls have been removed. Decor in this bar is exclusively exciting horse racing photos, there’s a big screen as well over an ex-fireplace. The counter is faced in a variety of vertical hardwood planks like the pallet ones you see but much more tasteful. We find here four pulls: Taylor’s Landlord, Leeds Pale, Oakham Citra and an unclipped one, keggery is supplied on a low T-bar of usual suspects plus a Moretti solo. There was also a small blackboard proudly proclaiming “craft” beers - Carlsberg-Marstons Shipyard and Heineken’s Beavertown Neck Oil. York CAMRA big this one up so maybe I expected more but it’s still a decent village local. Dog friendly.

A good traditional two-roomed village local. The flagstoned public bar, decorated with horse racing pictures, includes a sports TV and a dartboard. The right-hand lounge side has a polished wood floor and a respectable food trade. To the rear is a garden with a children's play area. Four ales were on handpump and seemed in good condition - Leeds Pale, TT Landlord, Oakham Citra and Treboom Gold. The pub has won various awards over the years. Worth a visit.

This is a decent village pub that has been done up there are a few picnic tables at the front and the flowers at the front make this look welcoming.
There were three real ales on the bar and i tried the Black Sheep bitter and this was not a bad drink the other beers were Bombadier and John Smiths cask.
