Will Larter left this review about Tempest Arms

This is a big roadside pub just off the busy A56 not far outside Skipton. The large car park was not as full as would be normal on a Sunday afternoon, and when I chatted to the licensee he said that it had been busier on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with the subsidised meals that had just started that week. This is a large old stone building, or is it an agglomeration of several buildings? It seems to go on forever, especially with the one-way-system to ensure appropriate distancing, which brings you out at the far rear of the pub to return to the car park from seemingly a different county. Inside it's slightly opened out, with a large bar counter centrally placed. There are four hand pumps, with one beer labelled as "coming soon". I went for the Hetton Pale from local Dark Horse, an always-present beer, which was apparently insisted upon in the negotiations that made this a Robinsons pub. It was a very good beer, though not as much to my taste as the same brewery's Craven Bitter. (Probably the most sensible track & trace system here - simply log onto the free wifi, and the system automatically records your visit and then remembers you next time.)
