Steve C left this review about The Rover

I visited the Rover on Saturday evening after watching the rugby over the road and I thought it to be a pleasant enough place. It was obviously packed due to the proximity of the Saints ground, but it wasn’t uncomfortable and the crowd was very good humoured. The pub is U shaped with a pool table at the rear and two dartboards on the right hand side; the one nearest the front was out of use as a band was setting up ready for an evening of live music. The ale section wasn’t the most inventive with Old Speckled Hen and Greene King IPA being available, but the Guinness was spot on and the service very cheerful. Food is served at very reasonable prices and there is a late license until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

I liked it in here and if I ever find myself in Northampton again I will pop in for another pint or two.
