Bucking Fastard left this review about Hole in the Wall

A proper old school boozer with excellent ale. It's a classic two roomed affair, lounge to the left, larger public bar to the right with a pool table at the rear. The public has bench seating under the front window, extending down the side wall as far as a large upturned tun used to prop pool players pints. The pool table has bench seating around two sides for viewers.Flatscreens all on mute and a good juke box also playing at subdued levels.
Name and mobile T&T,santisers but sit where you like as long as you can maintain social distancing.Got chatting with a local CAMRA man who had really enjoyed his Oakham Green Devil IPA (NBSS 4.5).Other ales on my trip Bass and Nottingham Pale (both regular) and Oakham Citra and it seems that two Oakham ales will usually be carried which makes this place unmissable.
The guv'nor was a little downbeat and finds the changing Covid regulation difficult to grasp, but he runs an excellent house.Classic wall emphemera and decoration it was an absolute pleasure to drink in here and along with the York Chambers a must visit.

Al Bundy left this review about Hole in the Wall

A very good pub pub situated just off the main drag. Two roomed plus a small area that you pass if going into the left side room. The two rooms were showing some England Rugby international and despite that, and some nonsense about having to "stand for the Queen" when the national anthem was played, the pub is worth a moment of your time. 6+ handpulls with a good variety of styles.

Will Larter left this review about Hole in the Wall

At any other time this back street local just off the main street in Long Eaton would be my sort of pub. However, as the 17th pub on my Alan Winfield Memorial Pub Crawl it was all I could do to make myself understood when ordering my beer, while simultaneously propping myself up on the bar without (I hoped) seeming incapable of standing without propping myself up on the bar. There were six hand pumps in this very pleasant pub, with a real cider and five real ales (see photos). I went for a half of Bass, which I seem to recall was in good condition, though I may be kidding myself.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Hole in the Wall

Side-street pub of the old school, with a busy public bar and (up a couple of steps) a rather quieter lounge. Traditional furniture and decor throughout. Five real ales on handpump - Extra Pale Ale, Legend (£3.00) and Centurion ND from Nottingham, the regular Bass, and Bishop's Farewell from Oakham - plus a potent 7.5% Broadoak KB cider.

A proper traditional pub, and a GBG regular. Two bars, a lounge and a public bar, the former carpeted, the latter housing a pool table. There are various gaming machines and tvs showing sports. The background music was tolerable and at a non-intrusive volume, while stained-glass panels add colour. There is also a projector and screen for special events. There were various beer- and brewing-related artifacts dotted around the walls, and several sports trophies were on display. The staff are friendly, and the strong local cadre mostly ale drinkers. There were 6 ales on – I had a truly excellent pint of Oakham's Bishop's Farewell, the best beer I've had in Long Eaton. An essential part of a town crawl, and a good place to hide away for the evening. I shall certainly return.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Hole in the Wall

The Hole in the wall used to be a bass tied house, this pub is up a side street and close to the market place.
When you go into this pub the bar is on the right and the lounge is up a few steps to the left,if your in the lounge the bar counter looks very low as this room is higher than the bar,we tend to go in the bar which has stools and bench seating making it fairly comfortable there is also a pool table at the back of this small room.
There is a good choice of beers on the bar with about 5 real ales a couple of these wll be locale beers from Nottingham brewery or Castle Rock and there will be some other micro brewery beers on there is also Bass on the bar,the last time we were in here we had a drink of Nottingham Rock bitter which was very nice.
This pub is one of the better options for real ale in Long Eaton and we dont mind having a couple of drinks here.
