This is a roughly square, carpeted and open plan room. The bar counter is at the rear and the TVs were on but quiet. At least the dart board here looks as though it gets used.
According to What Pub this is owned by Amber Taverns so I wasn't surprised to see a poor beer choice from the Marston stable. of the four hand pumps one was unused, one was Available Soon leaving Jennings Cumberland and Ringwood Fortyniner. I went for the Cumberland (£2.20) which on a hot day was in pretty poor condition and was served in a stupid dimple jug without being asked.
With the poor choice and quality of beer I thought this place wasn't very good and fear it has gone downhill since the previous reviews.

The Plough and Harrow is a large and sturdy looking pub that is situated on Hucknall's main shopping street.
I have been in this quite few times over the years when it was a Kimberley tied house.
The pub has now had a big makeover which has altered the inside,it is now a single room with the bar facing on entry, the room is carpeted and has comfy bench seating and normal tables and chairs for seating, there is a darts board to the front left, the TVs were showing Cricket on mute.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Home Ales Marrion, which went down well, there was another Home Ales beer on the bar and Castle Rock Harvest Pale.
Background music was playing.
I thought this was a decent and very comfortable pub to have a drink in.

Large locals boozer in an imposing red brick building. Enter to a large open-plan main bar with a spur off containing a decent banquette area leading to a patio garden. Recently decorated to a decent standard throughout with granny carpet, fake packed slate wallpaper and was very tidy. Plenty of sports screens. The beginnings of the dreaded Paddy’s day and this place was going full-throttle, including over-loud Irish music. Four ales, Home Robin Hood (good nick), Black Sheep, Rev James, Pride. Competitively priced. Beer festival advertised. All-in-all, not a bad place and an effort is being made here. 6.5
