Another suburban pub with the emphasis on food, but with a couple of handpumps. Greene King Abbot was unavailable, so we went for the IPA. The lass behind the bar misheard us and started to pour Punk IPA (misheard "handpump" for "punk", we assume). We quickly corrected her and enjoyed our GK IPA which was as good as it gets. Before pouring the Punk IPA away she offered it to us - we took a sip, but the cold, fizzy, orange-coloured drink tasted too much like Fanta or some such artificial orange-flavoured drink, so we told her to use it to clean the drains instead.

Just purchased by the Flaming Grill Pub Co and painted the usual shade of lurid Tango Orange.
There should be a law against this?

The Sherwin Arms used to be a Shipstones tied house.
This is a large pub which is next to the very busy bramcote island roundabout, once inside here the bar faces you this is an island bar with seating around most of it.
if you go to the right this is more comfy and where most people dine but you can also drink on this side of the pub the left hand side in more like a bar with tall tables and chairs there also a pool table here.
The pub does lots of food trade all day and offers a 2 for £9 pound deal the food is typical pub fare.
There are two real ales on here i had a drink of Leeds best which was'nt at its best the other beer on was Bombadier.
This pub has got drinking areas to suit different people and it is a popular place to go to.

Worth a visit between Derby and Nottingham off Brian Clough's Way, probably the best one on this route. The food appears not to be the regular microwave packs and a good choice of real ales
