Komakino . left this review about The Wheatsheaf

Staying at the Bingham Townhouse / Yeung Sing restaurant catercorner, this standalone, imposing building tempted me, and when a taxi to a wedding venue no-showed, I made an executive decision to have the swiftest of halves. As described by Ray below internally, the bar offered two banks of 5 x handpumps. I plumped for a half of Blue Monkey Chocolate Amaretto (£2.50) which was gorgeously smooth, with a faint sickly-sweet tang of Amaretto cushioned by the black, roasty bitterness of the dark malts. A clutch of locals sat in the corner of the bar by the window (to the left of the entrance), and were in raucous form at approx. 5pm on a Saturday afternoon. The ale and cider selection was excellent, and although I didn't have time to note them all, I did come over a little 'kid in a sweet shop' before nervously selecting the Blue Monkey. Their website states 'pub, kitchen and rooms' and they offer lunch and dinner as well as B&B rooms. The Horse & Plough is stumbling distance from here, and looked to be a great double-header. I only wish I'd had the time on my hands to spend in both.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Wheatsheaf

Received the Local and East Midland Cider POTY Award for 2017. Ten handpumps all in use on our visit, four of which were ciders. This pub had a traditional interior, with a very handsome looking oak bar over to the left of entrance with a flagstone floor. The small side lounge area with an oak fireplace was also nicely decorated and had a comfortable seating area. The pub also hosted a good sized dining room at the rear and a patio garden. We went for the Slightly Foxed Winter Blonde and Titanic Cherry Dark Porter.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Bingham

The Wheatsheaf used to be a Shipstones tied house years ago it was'nt open when i took this photo and i also dont know if it sells real ale or not.
The Wheatsheaf has reopened as the Wheatsheaf,it has been done up and now has a choice of real ales and real Ciders on the bar.
A mate of mine had a drink in it last week.

Note to Admins: I presume i am still blocked from the forum so unable to post name changes which i did say in the review.
THIS PUB IS CALLED THE WHEATSHEAF

Thanks Alan
