Komakino . left this review about The Chequers

An attractive thatched and Cotswold Stone building just off the busy A43. This has a wooden horseshoe-shaped bar, with a cosy bar area to the left and eating to the front right as well as in an area beyond the bar to its right. Under Fuller's bunches of fives, this offered LP, Seafarers and a very watery Chiswick Bitter which was a borderline 'pinch the nose and swallow' job. This still retains its external and internal charms, the staff were on form and the ambiance welcoming, but let down by the ale selection.
