I can't decide whether the manorial Oxfordshire village of Stratton Audley sounds more like an estate agents or a West Indian cricketer, but nomenclature aside, this establishment isn't far off being the quintessential English village pub. The welcome was warm, the ambience cosy and there's much emphasis on the nags, judging by the paraphernalia on the walls. A hearty dish of bangers and mash was served piping hot and was washed down with a cracking pint of Moorhouse's White Witch. The only slight gripe was the 'reserved' signs on all the tables, which I understand is there to prevent drinkers occupying the tables, yet seems excessive.
