Old school pub. Dining to left, drinking to right. 3 Wadworth on (IPA, Horizon and my chosen 6x). Decent beer. Pretty village.

A very traditional pub feel to this one, starting with the sign on the front door which declares 'Saloon Bar, Saloon Lounge, Jug & Bottle'. Although the latter is now out of action, the door to the left leads to an eating area, with the door to the right taking you to the main pub area. It's a Wadworth house, so you can't have everything, but three handpumps dispensed 6X, IPA and Old Timer (with a fourth - Bishop's Tipple - out of action). A carpeted floor, wood furnishings and exposed Cotswold-stoned interior give this a rather homely feel - perhaps too much, with an end-of-bar TV showing middle-of-the-road BBC2 programmes - yet the general cosiness of the interior makes it worth a punt if in the area.
