A posh GK eatery (is that an oxymoron?) in this small village on Abingdon's outskirts. Eating is primarily conducted to the left with the kitchen exposed and plates handed to servers on what on face value appears to be an old bar counter (there are two separate entrance doors, albeit both rooms are interconnected). The room to the right is a bar area, although there are tables here sequestered for dining, so you take a chance with a visit here out of season. Ruddles Best, Abbot Ale and Morland Original were the yawn-worthy three ale line-up, the latter as good as can be expected. It's a lovely building, but something a little more imaginative on the ale front would have gone a hell of a long way further.
