Not knowing Yeovil pubs until today I'd say since the last review this has had a refurb as condiments now come out in an undersized croquet set box or an expensive poncy wooden wine gift holder without the lid that you'd get as a Christmas present. Wood clad walls, comfy sofas, long benches etc. Reminds me of either a pub in Swindon I've been to or a Fuller's pub in Fareham. Clientele possibly still similar but expect they now have to pay more for the food. Some person sat near me exclaimed you'll have to ring or text me as I've no credit.

Some craft marked keg pumps on bar which had John Smith's on one, not sure how you craft produce John Smith's though.

Not too bad overall and just to the south of town centre so still walkable and not encountering the hill to the next pub after the railway further away from town along the A30.

A GK Meat and Greet pub in a grand Victorian house, now on a busy main road. There is a large car park, and there are two garden areas, on of them a covered, decked terrace used mainly by smokers. The basement area is predominantly storage and kitchen, and it is from this floor that you enter the main bar/dining area via a big staircase. The L-shaped bar is nice and bright, primarily laid to table, while there are a pool table, dartboard and gaming machines for entertainment. Several TV screens were showing live football. A jukebox competed with the TV commentary, causing a cacophony. Food was the usual GK-branded chav-fodder, cheap and tasteless and served in galvanised buckets, very apt for some of the clients. The majority of people there were actually normal, decent customers, though there were a few idiots. The staff were overworked but friendly nonetheless. Two ales on, GK IPA and London Glory. The Glory was insipid, weak and tasteless. Not somewhere I'd race back to.

The Coopers Mill was, at one time, OK but deteriorated to become a nasty chav pub with poorly kept beer and nondescript staff. Not been in for a couple of years for that reason but a recent change of management may turn it around - I'll give it another go soon. Well below average.

Carvery type pub owned by Greene King, with little soul. Situated near the town swimming pool and next to a large roundabout, one of the busier in Yeovil's road system. On the plus side ninesprings country park is on the other side and is always a good place for a walk. As a pub not a complete disaster (this is Yeovil). Beers were Greene King IPA (3.8% and NOT an IPA) Old SPeckled Hen and a Celebration Ale for the royal wedding which was not to my taste.
