E TA left this review about The Manor House Inn

A 17th Century village inn, originally a private house which has been an hotel since Victorian times. It sits next to the village church and is a central feature of the village. There is a small car park and garden at the rear, and there is seating in the narrower garden area at the front. The impressive red brick building has various stone and timber features inside, all of which gives it character, much of it ecumenical in appearance, so maybe it was a rectory in a former life. There is a main bar with a stone fireplace containing a woodburner, a small dining room, a larger dining room and a former skittle alley which is now a function room. The young staff were mostly pleasant, and the clientele were mainly locals, and entirely civilised. Food was freshly cooked and good value. There was a large selection of gin, 8 real ciders and two ales – Exmoor Gold and Butcombe Original. The ales were well kept and enjoyable. It’s a pleasant place to visit with old period features (I must stop calling her that).
