A modern pub and diner on the ground floor of a dockside warehouse conversion with smart residential flats above. The concrete floors are carpeted, and the walls are largely exposed brickwork. It’s open plan, though the division into different zones makes it feel more intimate than many similar conversions. There is also plenty of outside seating next to the dock. Food is standard chain stuff plus a Sunday carvery. There are TV screens, a pool table, dartboard and plenty of gaming machines, making it feel like a chain pub. The young staff were rather apathetic, and there were no grown-ups in evidence. A lot of the clients were in family groups having loud meals. Ales on were Yeovil QPA and Doombar, over-chilled and in average condition. It’s fine for what it is but it isn’t somewhere I’d go out of my way to visit.
