Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Radford Bank Inn

Substantial Stonehouse 'Pizza & Carvery' outlet, with the usual anonymous, refurbished interior. Separate entrances to the street-level bar and (lower) beer garden-level restaurant. Just Doom Bar (£3.20) from one of the various handpumps. Overall, very disappointing for a canal-side pub.

UPDATE: I popped in here to meet friends, and saw the bar area. It is large, in two parts, with TVs showing the rugby. There is a pool table and dart board too. The decor is white and wood panel and there were a couple of burner fires in brick fireplaces. Old photos are on the walls. There was no music. The service was fine and it was busy enough with rugger fans. Two ales are now on, EPA and Ped - the Ped is still pretty tasteless. At least is has a clear, separate bar area.

(Aug 2010) A large detached canalside Crown Carvery in white painted brick and white wood panel, with patio, beer garden and kids play area.

The interior has two rooms, a bar, that was all closed off at my visit and a dining area, which is accessed from the rea of the building. It is open plan with the usual red, cream and green walls, with some wood panel and undressed brick. There is a mix of arty pictures and old local photos on the walls - but it was so hot, i just got out. Now i didn't eat, but Mrs Soup and the Soupettes say the carvery is nice. The service was fine, the clientele family based and the background music general and at an OK level.

Beer; tap stuff, with GK IPA and Pedigree. The Ped wasn't great and the kids pop flat.

The place is lacks soul

This place has grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory. It's the only canalside pub for miles around and yet the focus is on extreme value carvery at the expense of a genuine pub atmosphere.Real ale is due to make an appearance sometime in the future but the only drinking area is in an upstairs bar devoid of character or in the garden, which is very weather dependent. The pubco is sitting on a potential goldmine but refuses to give up the easy option of catering to the lowest common denominator.
