Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Podge & Tin

Not completely clear initially whether you can just stop here in the former Fern & Fallow for a drink, but I went in anyway as I was looking to eat. Busy burger / grill restaurant with various dining areas around the former pub layout. Although no real ale available, there was a reasonable keg beer selection, from which I went for the Meantime London Pale Ale (£4.30). On enquiring on the way out, they do accommodate those just looking for a drink if space is available, so it just about deserves inclusion on this site as a pub.

Update: I visited here again, based on the comments of Danny, who said they had real ale. They did, Hobgoblin and Ringwood Old Thumper, both of were were fine. This place will appear on my radar a little more

Former LA Rock Cafe, now given a major overhaul and scrub up. This large pub and old pub sits at the junction of what was once the old Stafford main road and the new by-pass. The exterior is an olive green, white and part timber frame look, which is neat. It has a beer patio.

The interior has the same olive and white scheme, but is modern, with plaster and plain brick. It has two sections, a pool and bar area for the younger market and some arty pictures and candles for taking the wife/gf out. As modern interiors go, its not bad.

Service was very friendly, and the people in charge clearly wanted to make the place work. Clientele amounted to me and some young un's on the pool.

Beer; usual stuff on tap, with keg Marston's Pedigree, which wasnt too bad. The gaffer said they are looking to get in a MILD too.

I actually enjoyed my stop off here and will pop back at some stage

This pub still seems to be searching for an identity, being just outside the town and formally a specialised rock pub. Its a bit bare inside and not enough table - was very quiet early Friday evening, not sure if its sparten to get more of the pre-clubbing brigade in?

Having said that, its nice enough, friendly staff and I had a very good pint of Ringwood Filly Drift. Worth popping in if you are in the area. 3 stars for the beer
