Mark Davey left this review about The Dolphin Inn

The Dolphin is the only pub in Thorpeness and aims itself unashamedly at the day tripper market. Large open footprint inside with several interconnecting rooms all decorated in a modern style with lots of pastel paint and old unmatched furniture.

As with 90% of the pubs in the area, it is an Adnams tied house, with the usual array of brews from the Southwold brewery.

Food is a major factor for the Dolphin and on our Sunday lunch visit, it was packed with diners ordering chicken or beef dinners and apple crumble at £15 a head.

My pint of bitter was acceptable, as were my fellow drinkers Ghost Ship. My chicken dinner was a bit average, with under cooked veg and over cooked chicken. The beef did look better and I wish I had opted for that.

No better than average, if you are stuck in the town, you have no better alternative, unless you walk to Aldeborough where there are better pubs.
