Graham Coombs left this review about Station House

This splendid old building is now inhabited by a slick modern steakhouse - all leather chairs and potted palms. A couple of tables by the bar are retained for drinkers, as well as the outside tables. A nice bank of pumps offered London Pride, Ghost Ship and Tribute with various keg and bottle also. Handy for the station opposite, but not really worth a diversion unless eating. The steak smelt good though!

Quinno _ left this review about Inn on the Hill

Very modern and upmarket inside, more so than outwith. Red and mocha colourscheme with modern tiled flooring. Mainly set up for dining, with a large area tastefully screened off from a much smaller drinking lounge (dig the cowskin seat covers here!). Feature item of note was a glass topped table, containing various champagnes which net were probably worth as much as I'd get paid in a week. Two ales on, Doom Bar and GK OSH. Tired of drinking Doom in the preceding two pubs I made the mistake of going for the OSH which was nasty; appley tasting and served up in a Carling glass (so much for posh). It's not worth getting off the train for.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Inn on the Hill

There are two handpumps (Black Sheep and London Pride) plus the usual array of lager dispensers. My pint (Pride) was fine, and served full to the brim in the correct glass which is rare in this type of modernised gastro-pub. Nothing special, but the barman was friendly enough, and it is very handy for the station.
