A traditional pub and a GBG regular, there is a main ,narrow serving bar to the front of the pub with some conventional seating, to your left the room doglegs around into a slightly larger space, this seems more set out as a dining area,to the rightis a seperate room/public bar, accessed through an open door frame, in here more conventional tables and chairs, a dart board and fruit machine, there is a large serving hatch bar to save the trip next door for another beer. The beers are marked up on boards both in the main and public bars, only three hand pumps but seven beers were available on my visit, most coming direct from the cask. Courage Best, Hop Back Cropcircle and Arundle Sussex IPA are the regular beers on handpull, the guests were Hop Art Hip Hop,Itchen Valley QED,Winchester Ale and Langham LSD. This is quite a good,if basic, pub worth stopping off for.

An enduringly popular village local, a true free house and winner of many local CAMRA awards including the 2009 Surrey Pub of the Year and Surrey Cider Pub of the Year. It still retains a traditional lounge and public bar layout, which caters for a happy mix of customers including friendly locals, passers-by and ramblers. Lunchtime food is excellent value and available Mon-Sat only; additionally there is a weekly fish and chip evening. Seven real ales are available including five guests drawn from casks in the cellar and four real ciders on stillage behind the bar. An excellent beer festival is held in July each year. Dog friendly.
