Malden man left this review about The Symonds Well

There are two main rooms, the front area has an island bar, a bar football table to the right, there is some etched glass to the front bay windows, and a bit of wood panelling. Seating is standard table and chair stuff, mainly in fours, wooden flooring to the front, elsewhere carpeted. The room at the back was in darkness with the chairs upturned on the tables. The decor includes some horse related stuff, pictures of Derby winners and suchlike.
Four handpumps on the bar, facing the entrance but three were reverse clipped, Bombardier and two from Caledonian. This left just Youngs Bitter, which was an ok drop.
A very ordinary pub really, not one I'd hurry back to, but it would have been improved by a better beer selection being available.

Rex Rattus left this review about The Symonds Well

This is a basic and fairly uninspiring pub in the centre of Epsom. Young’s Bitter was available at £3.25 a pint. They possibly do food at some time, but as we were in there late on Monday eveing there was no sign of any menus. And it was very quiet in there – as in not many customers – the rock music being played wasn’t particularly quiet. It was sufficiently empty that the barmaid kindly gave us personal notice of the impending last orders. The seating was standard tables and chairs, and some banquette seating as I recall. The only notable feature that I recall is the rarely seen table football at the back on the right.
I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to visit this pub, but it was handily placed on a wet and windy Monday night when we just had time for a swift one before catching the last train home.

Busy, lively town centre pub Sports bar feel at the front around the central horseshoe bar, more relaxed in the large lounge area behind.
