Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Avenue

Two-bar bar pub, partly opened-out out to leave a 'U'-shaped interior with the main part of the bar counter on one side and an additional seating area with a pool table (free three days a week) on the other. Quite loud music for early on a Wednesday evening, but the place is probably aimed more at the student market than the likes of me anyway... Semi-modern, if a bit sparse, furniture and decor. Just Doom Bar (£2.80) from the three handpumps when I called in.

Danny O'Revey left this review about The Avenue

Traditional style building that has been modernised, its almost opposite the Assembly venue.

Although modernised it seems to work here, very pleasant, relaxing and a good place for a beer.

Only one real ale - Greene King IPA - with a couple more this would be a really nice place.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Avenue

A white plastered Georgian style facade on a brick build corner pub. The pub wasnt open in the day - late afternoon i think.

The interior is open plan around the bar. The decor is mainly white, with some flowery wallpaper and wood floor. The place is modern so there are arty pictures of wine, candles on the bar, comfy chairs and twigs with lights on. The music was loud, but to be fair, varied, with accompanying flashing lights and there was Sky TV. Service was fine, the clientele were mixed as they, like us, were using it as a last stop off before seeing the gig at the Assembly Rooms.

Beer; all tap stuff, with GK IPA. I had coke.

Not my kind of place and not my kind of beer, so i wont be back
