As mentioned by others the only landside option for a beer when waiting to pick up arriving passengers at Stansted. Its fit for purpose but that's just about it. A soul less characterless space that you would expect to find at an airport, and would normally be happy with if the developments at the new Heathrow T2, such as the Fullers London Pride pub / restaurant, hadn't raised the bar and shown what can be provided with a little bit of imagination.
And the previous reviewers world must be a sad place if Fullers London Pride and GK IPA qualify as the best pints available. As the serving staff here are not name badged I couldn't check if Ben still works behind the bar.

I rather enjoyed my visit to the bridge bar it was a comfortable place to rest whilst awaiting for relatives, all staff were pleasant and all the best pints available. Good ale available and all the best beers here too , good interior, comfy seating and will defiantly visit again on departure of my next holiday

The only landside bar at Stansted Airport,I took solace in here while awaiting to pick up a rellie from a delayed flight with my car parked in the pricey short term car park, enough to drive anyone to drink. My mood didnt improve when asked to shell out £2.10 for a half of a house branded Bridge Ale ,with no clue as to the brewer of this insipid 3.7% brown beer, although it had all the hallmarks of the dreaded GK.The other real ale option was London Pride and looking around there seemed nothing wrong with any of the pints being consumed. The interior is bland as you might expect but at least real ale is available.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Bridge Bar & Eating House

Formerly a franchised O'Neills outlet, the 2010 re-branding under the Bridge Bar & Eating House label has at least resulted in real ale being offered to thirsty travellers in the landside part of the airport. Only one of the two handpumps was on, but this produced a servicable pint of Pride (£3.80). Otherwise, pretty much as anonymous as it ever was...

ok if you are meeting someone off a plane but no real ale and plenty of Guinness.
