Soup Dragon left this review about Walkabout

A terraced but rather grand building, with a decent rear patio area. The building is neo-classical, being in white stone. It has large rounded and rectangular sash windows but is dominated by the pedimented columned entrance with a balustrade on the upper floor, as well as the side porches. The interior that i saw was just the main bar, with booth and high stool seating. It is in green and yellow, obviously, with sporty Aussie pictures on the walls. The several TVs were showing sport - so i popped in to see Joe Root get another beating in Walkabout in a matter of a few days. There is a pool table and they do the finest Aussie cuisine - burgers - which i managed to refrain from trying. There were a few younger people in and the service was fine. No real ale, or MILD, left me to try an exotic drink, so i went for the Coors Light, which was now only in bottles, so i went for half a Guinness, which they only do in pints. Beaten, i went for coke. Walkabout, my advice would be Turnabout.

ROB Camra left this review about The Walkabout

This is a tatty, sticky floor(even on a Wednesday) place with a mixture of comfortable seating at the back of the main room and high tables with bar stools in the front part. Everywhere looks dated and would be seriously improved by turning the bright lights off. Cheap and nasty decorations on the wall don’t help. It is undergoing a refurbishment in one room at the moment so it may well change. It does have loads of TV screens though and is probably heaving when the football is on. Nothing of any interest on the bar with Carling being £2.75 which is a bit steep for the worst lager in the world. It’s a bit of a dump to be honest, in fact it’s the worst Walkabout that I’ve ever been in and that takes some doing for a chain of poor bars.
