Alan Winfield left this review about The Princess Of Wales

The Princess of Wales is situated on a back street just up from the busy North Street.
Once inside there is a a single room with the bar facing, the room wraps around the bar on three sides,it is carpeted and has comfy bench seating and chairs for seating, there is a TV to the rear left and dart board to the rear right.
There was one real ale on the bar which was Courage Best, this was a decent enough drink.
This is a decent and comfy pub to have drink in.
Empty on a Saturday dinner visit.

Blackthorn _ left this review about The Princess Of Wales

A traditional pub tucked away on a side street between North Street and West Street, it has a patio area at the front with a number of picnic benches and also a small courtyard at the rear, although we did not investigate this.

Inside it’s one single room in a U-shape wrapped around the bar counter. The right hand half had a darts board but was otherwise in darkness on a recent Tuesday evening visit. Décor wise it’s quite traditional with carpet on the floor and a few black beams on the ceiling, some of them with a few jugs hanging up. The paintwork is now a more contemporary gastro-pub shade of fawn than on my previous visit, and the velvet banquette seating around the perimeter now includes a few scatter cushions. A plasma at the rear was showing a football match, whilst a blackboard highlighted various upcoming music acts which looks as though it’s a regular Saturday night feature. A filled baguette behind the bar appeared to the extent of the food offering.

Beers on tap were just Doom Bar and Courage Best, although there was a good choice of ciders with Weston’s Wyld Wood, Thatcher’s Dry, Thatcher’s Gold and Stowford Press.
