Soup Dragon left this review about The Albany

This is a corner pub, formerly an hotel, with patio area. It was built in 1907, as the date-stone says, as the area was developed for housing. It is executed in stone and red brick, typical of the period. There are two rooms at least, but I could only see the bar, which had pool, darts, a TV with the snooker on and a jukebox not being played. The décor is cream and red and old local photos are on the walls. The seating is traditional green bench type. The service was fine and a couple of locals were in, but we just sat out on the patio. Beer; usual keg stuff for a Marstons pub, with a rather poor Banks's MILD. The single handpull was the bland EPA. Nothing much for the real ale fan.

Recently reopened with a more "arty" feel , including live music and exhibitions. Serves the usual range of Marstons beers.
