Will Larter left this review about Davy Jones Locker

I often used to pop in here for a lunchtime or evening pint when I worked just around the corner in Albert Road. It doesn't seem to have changed a lot in the intervening decades, although the betting shop I used to work in has long since closed, and, even more weirdly, the nuclear power stations that were being built at the time are now in the process of being decommissioned. The major change of course - apart from the real fires now providing a welcoming warmth to this basement bar - is that Mitchells no longer brew beer, so the beers available on the bar are from Everards and York. I swerved the Beacon and had the Guiding Light, which was inevitably pale and hoppy - I remember the malty Mitchells that used to be served here - from diaphragm pumps, as I recall - and which we drank in large quantities before going back to work (this all seems so last century!).
