Quinno _ left this review about The Capital Asset (JD Wetherspoon)

Perth's Timbo Tavern overlooking the Tay (though you don’t get a direct view as a wall over the way blocks it). Fairly featureless which is a surprise given it’s a bank conversion in a rather grand looking building (apparently the original Chubb safe is round the back though sadly I didn’t spot it). Idle staff not really putting in a shift, dirty tables everywhere. A somewhat ambitious five guest cask. My Windswept Wolf tasted rather peculiar (I couldn’t decide whether it was pub of brewery fault, NBSS 1.5) though Missus Quinno's Alchemy Ritual fared much better (4). GBG listed, anyway.

Large Spoons overlooking the river, pretty standard but comfortable and well located

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Capital Asset (JD Wetherspoon)

Typical conversion of an impressive former bank building beside the Tay (with the impressive former safe still a feature inside). Partly opened-out to leave an 'L'-shaped bar with two slightly raised wood-panelled side rooms, all under high ceilings. Mix of furniture in the various seating / dining areas, but there also some patio tables at the front and in the narrow side beer garden. With the Scottish Real Ale festival on, there a probably-better-than-usual choice from five of the six handpumps, including reds from Skye and Redcastle, a pale from the latter and Orkney Black Gold (plus Doom Bar, for the unadventurous...).

I visited this pub back in July 2016 and noticed to my horror today that I hadn't copied in my review! Any scribbles I made are now long gone so this is from memory. As the name suggests it's a bank conversion and a fairly grand one. I arrived here before Scottish Beer O' Clock so had one of their weird breakfasts and a pint of something afterwards. As it was a morning visit it wasn't busy but seemed pleasant enough. I think the beer choice was about average.
