The N&S Wales Bank was never the best Wetherspoon pub, but I think I prefered it to the present version.
One wall has about 20 screens on it showing about 5 different programs, thankfully without sound to avoid complete bedlam. Only two ales were available, Taylors Landlord and a Robinsons beer, but as usual in this type of pub, most people were drinking one of many different lagers! The barmaid said my pint would have to "settle" and served two or three different people. A couple of pulls later, she gave it to me with "only" an inch of head! I thought why bother, I can drink it faster and Never return!

This ex-Wetherspoon pub reopenes as "The Midland" (02/12/2023 at 8.00am)
It has taken the name as its former use as a Midland Bank.

Blue Scrumpy left this review about The North & South Wales Bank (Lloyds No 1)

Wetherspoon's conversion of an old bank. It's an impressive building, both inside and out, especially the window light with its stained glass. With such a high ceiling, it can be quite noisy inside with sound echoing around. TVs were showing horse racing, but the big screen mentioned previously was not in use. The high ceiling also means that it is a bit of a trek up a few flights of stairs to the toilets.

As luck would have it, my visit coincided with the early days of the Wetherspoon's real ale festival. So, the guest beers here were perhaps slightly more adventurous than normal. Greene King Abbot & Ruddles Best are the regular beers. Guests on this occasion were Mad Giant Autumn Amber, Shepherd Neame Rebel Flame & Thornbridge Hopton. Ciders were Weston's Old Rosie & Gwynt y Ddraig Black Dragon.

This is one of two branches of the chain in Wrexham and although I haven't been to the Elihu Yale since 2013, there's not much to choose between them. If anything, the North & South Wales Bank slightly edges it.

Steve C left this review about The North & South Wales Bank (Lloyds No 1)

The North & South Wales Bank is a large open plan Lloyds No 1 with a bar counter on the right wall that supports standard and premium keg alongside five handpumps. These were drawing Ruddles, GK Abbot Ale, Butcombe Gold, Wychwood’s Hobgoblin and Portobello Brewing’s Central Line Red. The JDW food menu is available.
A huge projector screen on the left wall was showing a Champions League game via BT Sports. In the very high ceiling are a couple of leaded stained glass edged sky lights, but there’s nothing much else of interest to look at. The curt service from the young moody barmaid capped off a miserable visit, I’ll not be returning.

Pretty standard bank conversion which seemed to be pretty popular. Otter Amber and Wadworth Bishops Tipple alongside the usual's. Not a bad pub.

This Wethers is up for sale apparently and its difficult to see why Tim is NOT trying to get rid of it. It can be a noisy place and with whingeing kids and a cacophony of coughing going on the noise can be annoying. It only has 5 handpulls, of which 2 were working, which is a bit poor. That being said, it was only £1.69 for a pint of Peerless Langton Spin. If you need to use the toilets it might be quicker to use the pub over the road as the ones in here are somewhere near the top of the Matterhorn. Popular of an afternoon with mothers pissing the child benefit up the wall.

The ultimate stereotype Spoons. Whilst the exterior looks lovely, the layout is a big oblong high-ceilinged room, akin to a soulless battery farm, presumably to produce vast amounts of urine for Timbo to stockpile post Brexit for ammonia. There’s a jumbo drop-down screen which dominated the pub, showing a second tier footy match with nobody watching. Three guest ales which is the same as the other non-Lloyds Spoons in town, maybe that tells us something. The bright spot in an otherwise ghastly affair was that my pint of Weetwood was really good (NBSS 4).

Aqualung . left this review about The North & South Wales Bank (Lloyds No 1)

This is the only JDW in North Wales that still charges less than two quid for a standard guest ale. As mentioned below it's a fairly typical bank conversion and is still a Lloyds as confirmed by outside signage, landscape printed menus and speakers but I didn't spot any light rigs.
It's a large high square room with typical JDW furnishings and there's not much else to be said about it. It seemed to be doing a fair trade on my Wednesday Afternoon visit.
There are only five hand pumps which had one unused, GK Abbot, Doom Bore, Celt Experience Galaxy Equinox and Purple Moose Glaslyn. I went for the Glaslyn (£1.95) which was in good nick.
Given the recent closures by JDW you have to wonder if this one has a future as it has all the credentials that many of the closures have. I thought it was OK as the beer choice in the other Wrexham JDW wasn't that much better.

Definitely the 2nd best of the two Wrexham 'spoons. The high ceiling gives a very noisy atmosphere to the place. The nearest toilet is in the Golden Lion next door! Of the five handpumps, only one was a changing guest beer on my visit. The saving grace is that the Weetwood Cheshire Cat guest was in excellent condition and slightly better than in the other 'spoons later on.
