A very modern Spoons. Red, blue and cream interior with an attractive Art Deco Moderne curved bar. Rammed on weekday evening. Two genuine guest ales listed but the JHB had gone so Spitfire it was which was excellent (NBSS 4). Good COVID door management, true of most of the JDWs I did in North Wales in July. It’s a decent little Spoons.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Tafarn Y Porth (JD Wetherspoon)

Mid-sized 'spoons housed in a former supermarket located just outside the town walls right by the impressive East Gate. Limited amount of window space on three sides (with one having a good view of the old fortifications), so light enough in places but quite gloomy in the middle, although the relatively pale furniture and decor helps a bit. However, there is also a large patio beer garden to one side. Eight real ales and a cider from the two banks of five handpumps, but disappointingly nothing from Wales let alone anything remotely local. Opted for Bass (£2.15) in the end, but the management should really show more imagination.

This is housed on the ground floor of a rather drab looking square building. Inside it's not too bad consisting of a bright but low ceilinged room with a curved bar on the left and a patio through some glass doors to the right. The furnishings are fairly typical.
The bar has two sets of five hand pumps which had 3 ciders (one available soon), the two GK beers, Big Bog Hinky Punk & Spring Bog, Moorhouse White Mist, Brain's Reverend James and Wold Top Wold Gold. I went for the local Big Bog Hinky Punk which was in very good nick.
It's not a great Spoons but I thought it was better than average especially for a relatively small place like Caernarfon.
