Modern Spoons shop conversion, nicely done in light wood and green trim at the front with salmon shades to the rear in which the Wales v Ukraine World Cup lay-off was being shown via S4C so in Welsh, which I thought was unusual but welcome. Up the stairs is another level of seating which leads to an impressive rooftop garden area with a fair view over the way to the other side of the valley. Décor point of interest was the jumbo copper coloured dragonfly, which was rather tasteful. Four genuine guest ales, my Mumbles IPA was in good shape (NBSS 3.5), served-up by friendly staff. Surprisingly good and well-worth its GBG’22 listing on this evidence. 7.5

Called in for breakfast which was decent. Noticed a few guests with beers from Loddon and Pendleside breweries.

Bog standard Wetherspoons, at the lower end of their range

A fairly modern Spoons' in one long room with a bar down one side. There are some canopied tables out the front and a small outdoor balcony at the back, otherwise pretty predictable. It is notable however for a good range of beers, with only Abbot present of the usual trio in a good line up of brews including several locals.

This is a pretty basic old school shop conversion consisting of a long narrow room with a hideous modern interior. There are alternate orange and pink lighting strips along the ceiling which I could see no reason for at all. It was fairly quiet on my Thursday afternoon visit.
The ten hand pumps had one unused, the JDW Trio Of Doom with Ruddles doubled up, Brains SA Gold doubled up, Gower Power, Brecon Red Beacons, Borough Nut Red Coke and Tomos Watkin Pecker Wrecker. I went for the Brecon beer which wasn't clear and presumably had been put on too soon. This was a shame as the choice of local brews here was quite good.
