Nondescript Wethers. A long thin place with usual standard Wethers look about it. 5 beers spread over 10 handpulls. Average.

Fairly standard spoons with a good choice of ales on - maybe due to the current festival. The breakfast was decent and it was busy.

The Jewel of the Severn is a Wetherspoons pub that is situated towards the top end of Bridgenorth's High Street.
Once inside there is a long oblong shaped room which runs to the rear, the bar is on the left side, the rear area is up some steps, there is the normal Spoons seating of tall tables and chairs opposite the bar and mainly normal tables and chairs elsewhere, there is some bench seating which is nice to see.
The choice of guest beers was not great, but i was happy enough having a drink of Oakham JHB,which went down very well, the other beers noted were Salopian Oracle and GK Abbot.
The pub was very busy on our pre 11am visit with queues at the bar and also to get into the pub and out of it.
This seemed a decent enough Spoons to me,though a bit too busy for my liking.

Fairly standard JDW well described in the previous reviews although it seems to have had a bit of a refurb being quite light and airy .
Two sets of 5 handpulls with all beers doubled up with Ruddles , Abbot , Marstons Old Empire , Saddlers Sweet Leaf and a decent Salopian Faraway Stout .
Despite being busy service was quick and friendly .

After visiting some gems around Bridgnorth, this was a flying visit. We settled on a Sadlers each, which were a Sadlers Hopbomb and a Sadlers Worcester Sorcerer, prices were good and service efficient. A fairly standard Spoons this one, which was very busy on our Saturday afternoon visit.

This is a long narrow Spoons on three levels. There is a tiny area right at the front that just had a table then some steps lead up to the bar area and some more steps right at the back leading to an eating area. It was quite busy at midday on a Saturday.
The beer choice was let down by the fact that the JDW Trio Of Doom was doubled up on the two sets of five hand pumps. This left Belhaven Burns Brown, Backyard IPA, Sadler's Worcestshire Sorcerer and Kelham Island Pale Rider. I went for the Pale Rider (£2.25) which was in excellent condition. This one is GBG 2016 listed so it was a shame to see the doubling up. Other than that it seemed a decent enough Spoons.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Jewel of the Severn (JD Wetherspoon)

This 'spoons has a rather awkward layout, with the bar located up the front steps and further seating areas to the side and rear reached via further flights. Gloomy interior. Ten handpumps, but with several duplicates the pick of the bunch was Woods Shropshire Lass (£2.20).

Old Boots left this review about Jewel of the Severn (JD Wetherspoon)

A standard ‘spoons conversion, come in off the street past a few seats and up stairs to the main bar where the counter takes up almost the length of one side. The usual 5+5 arrangement of pumps is split into standards on one set and guests, which are mainly from the Salopian Brewery, on the others. The standard T Bars are interspersed as usual. There’s a second raised area opposite the counter and yet another at the back, Bridgnorth isn’t flat. Décor from modern art and some of the panels about local heroes and the locality, Thomas Telford and the river among them. Wheel chair access is excellent even to the raised areas. Not a ‘spoons you can say much bad about, the beer and staffing were better than average.

Soup Dragon left this review about Jewel of the Severn (JD Wetherspoon)

Terraced pub with white and blue exterior

The interior is open plan and on a couple of levels. The decor is white and cream walls with wood panel. Laid out for food, though one area was more for drinkers, which sadly was modern, with arty pictures, sofas, along with a nice brick fireplace. There were the usual TVs dotted about and a few nice photos of old Bridgnorth as well. The bogs are a mile upstairs. The service was fine, mainly because there wasnt many in and the staff were not stretched. Food we had was fine - basic breakfasts.

Beer; Usual tap tosh, with Pedigree, Abbot, Ruddles Best, Shropshire Gold and a decent Wem Black Magic MILD.

All in all, i never expect a lot from a Spoons, but this was a happy enough experience - We only use them for a brekky to start the day and i would use this one again

Called in for a pint last night. All tables clean, prompt service at the bar and a decent pint of Banks & Taylor Golden Fox. Must be a different duty manager on or something. A massive improvement from my last visit. Keep it up guys

Called in last night, had a pint of Shropshire Lass rather than Lad. It was OK. Small town, large town, city, it doesn't seem to matter to Wetherspoons, they all seem to have the same basic staff problems. Slow service, dirty tables etc. If the staff training keeps winning awards(according to their posters) then why doesn't it work
