Smart little spoons that always seems to have a good choice of local beers on. On my last visit there was Kus Rak and Chinook IPA from Backyard brewery, Sadlers Peaky Blinder, Slaters Pacifica and another one which escapes me - Man In A Hat I think!
The 2 I tried were in excellent shape.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Elizabeth of York (JD Wetherspoon)

Pretty small for a 'spoons, with a typical shop-conversion bar at ground-floor level supplemented by a modest 'U'-shaped seating / dining area upstairs. However, it benefits from relatively light decor and friendly / attentive staff. On the real ale front, the usual suspects are almost an afterthought, with the focus being on a bank of five handpumps with local beers. These included two from Backyard: American Pale (£2.19) and Marynka IPA.

A small Wethers until you realise that the usual upstairs drag is actually another room and not just the toilets. The ground floor is small for a Wetherspoons and, sadly, pretty generic. A total of 8 handpumps on the bar with a bank of 3 dedicated to the Wether dullards. The other 5 had a decent selection of beers on. Not the best but nowhere near the worst.

This Spoons consists of a low ceilinged room with an upstairs area for dining. The bar is on the left as you enter and there are fairly typical furnishings. It's all fairly nondescript but I thought it was OK. On a Tuesday afternoon it was doing a reasonable trade but not packed out.
The bar has a set of three hand pumps with the JDW Trio Of Doom so they can be safely ignored. The other five had Sadler's Red IPA, Caledonian Ithaca Nut Brown, Lymestone Stonefish Mild & Foundation Stone and one that I failed to write down. I went for the Sadler's Red IPA (£2.49) which was excellent as it was in Redditch a few weeks earlier.
Despite not having a large range of ales and being fairly ordinary I quite liked this one.

Due to the fact that we met a couple of characters in here, it made our visit to this Spoons quite enjoyable. The service on our visit was good and the manager who was busy, still managed a friendly welcome. There were five ales on, I went for the Jennings The World's Biggest Liar, Moorhouses White Mist and an American Craft ale.

LOovely old building from the street, however its very Spoony inside, though the upstairs is fine. Nothing out of the ordinary.

7 real ales which was a good choice, including 3 Springhead beers when I visited, but the quality is nothing out of this world.

Ok, worth a visit if on a beer tour.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Elizabeth of York (JD Wetherspoon)

A terraced Wetherspoons, half undressed brick, half read and cream frontage.

The interior is on two floors, with a smaller comfy seat balcony in purple and cream, with wood panelling. The ground floor is open plan, supported by columns in part and laid out for food in the usual Spoony style. The decor is greens, blue, cream, with half wood panel walls and some undressed brick. A couple of arty pictures were on the walls and a mirror, along with an empty bookcase! There was no music, the service was fine and the usual mixed clientele. The earea to the rear is a family area (until 9pm). We didn't eat.

Beer; tap stuff, with the usual Ruddles and Abbots, along with Purity UBU, a poor Beartown Bearskinful and a decent but strong GK Abbot Reserve.

Usual kind of Spoons thing, though i have been in worse, with the usual standard of beers - one good, the other poor.

Yet another Weatherspoons house & all that the name conveys. Lively part of Birmingham with village atmosphere. Only on street parking available & not much of that.
