Long thin spoons formerly a Lloyd’s I believe, its central location on the Old Market Square, means you can enjoy the chimes of the town hall clock and the trams rumbling by as you sup. Tall stools and tables near the front door, counter and machines in the middle and low chairs and tables, some on a raised area, at the rear. Two banks of five with a bank of four in the middle however just the unholy trinity plus Hobgoblin to delight your taste buds. Didn’t explore upstairs due to plague.

A bland Wethers that's on 2 levels. The interior is a nondescript room though there are 14 handpumps on the bar. A fairly decent variety of beers ups the points total a bit. Apparently there is an upstairs bar too but I never ventured up there.

The most centrally located of the Nottingham weatherpersons and by far the worst of the bunch. This is not helped by being frequented by its fair share of down and outs. this said it is noticeably more expensive than most of the other spoons with their standard cheap ale price being £2.30. there are fourteen hand pulls available with more upstairs on the bar but these are copies of whats on offer downstairs. beer include offerings from locals such as Nottingham, Dukeries and Magpie I had a pint of Nottingham Rock bitter at £2.30 and this was a crap pint, very badly condition, stone cold and cloudy, and one I know to be a very nice beer when kept right.
The decor is also some of the worst/plainest i have seen in a spoons and the layout means the main drinking area downstairs is a windowless square room that is very much like a school canteen, no atmosphere whatsoever. Truly a terrible example of a wetherspoons. there is literally no reason to visit here when the far superior roebuck is less than a three minute walk away.

"Due to technical difficulties we have no real ale". This was the sign on the bar that greeted drinkers on my Saturday midday visit. I was already unimpressed by the drabness of it all at the base of a very dull probably mid last century office block. What beers were available from the fourteen hand pumps will never be known but they would have cost £2.59 a pint, a full 30p more than the superior Roebuck around the corner. Despite the lack of real ale it was busy with shoppers, families and a few of the daytime brigade. I splashed out on a couple of tins of Sixpoint Bengali Tiger with a pint glass which I thoroughly enjoyed. Even if I didn't mark it down for not having real ale it would never achieve the score for the Roebuck because it's simply not as good and is more expensive.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Joseph Else (JD Wetherspoon)

Well located on the south side of Market Square adjacent to the tram tracks, but it always looks rather uninviting. The elongated bar quickly gets gloomy as you head towards the back where the seating is raised by a couple of steps. Also has a mezzanine (never visited). Now has a total of 14 handpumps, usually with a very good range of local / regional ales, including three from Milestone, two from both Nottingham and Grafton breweries and one each from Lincoln Green, Kelham Island and Springhead (Drop o' the Black Stuff, £2.45) plus a cider on this visit.

This is the first JDW I visited when in Nottingham, I called in especially to get a steak and chips around 11am before our PG annual meetup/crawl. Steak was very good the beer was also good and lively to wash it down with. I went for the Oakleaf Brewery 10 Little Acorns and Cotleigh Brewery Commando. No complaints, fed and watered at a very reasonable price.

Called in again on a Monday lunchtime. The floor is worse than ever and the "Monday Club" crowd were in, so there were even more dregs than normal. I got served easily though and the pint of Nottingham Rock was pretty good. Not my favourite JDW by a long chalk, not even my favourite one in Nottingham.

This is a sticky floor Wetherspoons always with a pretty "ratted" crowd when I've visited. If you go upstairs with your drink you'll find another small seating area which is much quieter and relaxed. Beer quality is a bit variable but I've never had a really awful one in here. Nowhere near as good as the Wetherspoons just round the corner.

Definatly not the best boozer in Nottingham.
This is in my opinion the worst Wetherspoons in Nottingham its only saving grace is if you grab a seat next to the windows upstairs you can look over the square and watch the trams go by.
Downstairs is always busy and we have usually had to wait ages to get served there is the usuall range of real ales on the bar,but i dont really enjoy the drinking experiance here.
