There's no real ale here although a forlorn looking handpump was displayed in splendid isolation at the end of the counter. A half of Guinness was £1.75. There was no sign of any food on Wednesday lunchtime.

This is a bogstandard estate pub a stone's throw from the upmarket St John's Wood. Inside it's carpeted, with bucket armchairs and dark varnished tables. There's a dartboard, a pool table, a TV on showing some film that the barmaid told me was called "Scrooge", plus pithy sayings, mostly unintelligible, scrawled in chalk on most of the flat surfaces. I also saw "Whiskey Mick's" jam sessions advertised for Tuesdays.

There's nothing of special interest here; it's just a straightforward locals' pub. But sometimes these unremarkable pubs can be cherished by their regulars. I hope that's the case here and they get a reasonable footfall in the evenings.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Lillie Langtry

The Lillie Langtry is situated on the corner of besize road and abbey road,it is a typical looking estate pub that is sited under a block of flats, just the sort of pub i love visiting.
Once inside there is a smallish single L shaped room, the bar faced on entry, there was a pool table and TV to the right and bucket type chairs and tables to the front.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths Extra Cold Crap which was crap.
The pub was fairly busy with locals, there was some background music playing which matched the beer.
This is a pub for the locals.
