A little tucked away off the beaten track for a JDW,a very average place, ten pumps but only five beers on, Youngs Special,GK IPA,Hobgoblin, a brace from W&E Canberra and Conqueror, four coming soon and Old Rosie Cider Completed the lineup, the Conqueror turned out to be average at best. I think Tim should have a re think and get shot of this one.

Reported as no longer being up for sale.

Visit December 2015
This is quite small for a Spoons and the "For Sale" sign was prominently displayed outside. It's a single open plan square room with a low ceiling. There is some wooden panelling with booths and some decorative lamps along the left side but apart from that it is pretty dull. The furnishings are all pretty standard.
It wasn't that busy when I arrived at 11:00 on a Friday Morning.
The bar has two sets of hand pumps which on my visit had GK IPA & Abbot, Doom Bore, Hook Norton AFO, Windsor & Eton Guardsman & 882 Seattle Porter, Bingham Space Hoppy IPA, Twickenham Grandstand, a cider and Bombardier available soon. I tried the Seattle Porter and the Space Hoppy (£2.05) both of which were in good nick but the Space Hoppy had a very slight haze.
The new menu from two days previously showed Guest Ales from £2.09 which means either I was undercharged or that anything on before the price rise was being sold at the old prices.
Despite being a bit dull I quite liked this one and much preferred it to their more central tourist trap. I can't say I would return as at the moment nobody knows if or when it will close.

Now on the JDW disposal list (when you compare its size and location to the King & Castle, perhaps it’s no surprise as to why). Seems to now have ten pumps though not all were on - 2x ciders, 2x W&E brews and 2x GK. My half of W&E Conquer was in good shape and keenly-priced. The standard of service from the mature barmaid was also noticeably above average for a Spoons. If you’re off down the Acre, this is worth a nose.

A slight improvement this visit, a good pint of Binghams Old Ale and more professional service. Cemented a 6.

A little off the beaten track for a Spoons, Timbo must have had issues getting a prime location here a few years back. Situated in a nasty early 80’s style building off Peascod Street, this is yer classic open-plan room JDW. There’s some wood panelling to the left and a couple of bright blue paint splashes. Usual Wetherspoon furniture and whiffs though seemingly more fruits than usual, I think they provided 50% of the light and heat source. Staff seemed more interested in hiding in the kitchen than serving, much cackling hilarity emanating from it. Five pumps, Abbot as the JDW bog standard with others being guests including two LocAles (Binghams). My Twyford Tipple was in decent shape. The King & Castle is the better of the two Spoons but the bonus here is the avoidance of tourists due the location; a number of punters were mingling like true regulars. In the context of Windsor, I'll be generous with a 6.
