Graham Coombs left this review about O'Neill's

Despite an olde worlde frontage, once inside this feels more like an alleyway than a shop conversion, squeezed into a gap between two buildings. The dark green and grey interior does nothing to reduce the subterranean feel, although there is a little glass atrium in the middle. It does at least keep a Doom Bar pump amongst the usual keg stuff to but frankly there is nothing much (else) to attract.

Alan Winfield left this review about O'Neill's

O'Neill's is situated quite close to a bridge over the River Ouse.
Once inside there is a very long narrow room which extends to the rear, the bar is to the rear left, the seating is tall tables and chairs to the front left and normal ones to the right, the rear area has a mix of seating types including normal tables and chairs and pew type seating, there is a large screen to the rear showing sky sports, fairly loud background music was playing.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Thwaites Wainwright which was quite a nice drink, the other beers were Taylor Landlord and Deuchars IPA.
This is a pleasant enough pub to have a drink in.

NB:The pub may be renamed to The Merchant Inn in the near future.
