Al Bundy left this review about Station Hotel

Closed and, mostly, boarded up.

8/10/17:
If you're waiting for a train and its cold and wet then you could be better off staying on the platform rather than come here. If you must come here then you will find a rather tatty and run down pub. It obviously was once a grand pub but those days are long long gone. Dark, dusty and grim inside. No real ale but at least its open. Not good.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Station Hotel

Solid railway hotel building that - very obviously - has seen better days. Still has a few features interest on the façade of the original building and the 1908 brick-built side extension, but inside all is very run down on terms of furniture and decor (with just a pool table noted initially within the opened-out three-part layout). However, there are still a few interesting features if you look carefully, including an old decorated fireplace and a matrix of thick glass floor tiles in one slightly raised seating area (presumably letting some natural light into the cellar). Notional beer garden out back. No real ale of course, so made do with a quick pint of the inevitable John Smiths (£2.70)
