Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The David Protheroe (JD Wetherspoon)

Quite an interesting-looking building, located directly opposite the station, but inside there is a rather jumbled layout that is difficult to navigate when busy (which it was on a Saturday afternoon). Semi-modern furniture and decor of no real distinction. Small side patio. Fair selection of real ales and a couple of festival ciders from the two banks of five handpumps, with the Oystermouth stout from the Mumbles Brewery (£2.15) standing out.

Aqualung . left this review about The David Protheroe (JD Wetherspoon)

This place was originally a police station and apparently is named after Neath's first policeman. It's just across the road as you leave Neath railway station.
It's on the small size by Wetherspoon's standards and is the usual single room but with some alcoves.
The bar has two sets of five hand pumps which on my visit had two ciders, the two GK beers, Rhymney Export, Maxim Maximus, Doom Bore, Broadside, Gower Rumour and Beartown Black Bear. I went for the Gower Rumour (£1.99) which was hazy but OK apart from that. It is GBG 2015 listed.
