this is a typical Chef & Brewer chain pub focusing almost entirely on food. Quite nicely done out inside if a bit generic and characterless. three real ales on but they were sadly all dull Greene King usuals - Abbots, Old Speckled Hen and IPA. Booooring. It's on the main road into Ormskirk and just up the road from Edge Hill University so avoid at all costs on graduation day.
